Winterising your Property

The time of year has arrived where Summer is a distant memory and we are all thinking about turning up the heating, putting on our dressing gowns and relaxing in front of a nice warm fire. (If only this could really happen!)We do however express that during the change in weather, people should think about having their boiler checked to make sure there will be no nasty surprises, we of course have trained gas engineers and plumbers that can help where needed.If your thinking of closing up your home or rental property for a few days (or the entire Holidays), please make sure you Winterise your home beforehand.1. Adjust the thermostat to frost free setting on your boiler and radiators 2. Shut all windows and doors securely 3. Shut off the main water supply to the house 4. Unplug all appliances that do not need to be on 5. Tell your Neighbours, so they can keep an eye out on any nasty surprises 6. Double check your gutters and outlet pipes are not blocked 7.
